What Should We Teach Our Children in the AI Era?

Recently, the topic 'Liberal Arts students are the biggest winners in the AI era' has gone viral. NVIDIA founder Jensen Huang publicly stated that children of the future don't need to learn coding, because human language will be the programming language of the future; humanities will be the most difficult and worthwhile field to invest in.

As the President of the Shenzhen Family Education Association and Chairman of SKYW Group, I believe the real question is not 'Liberal Arts or Sciences,' but rather: when AI redefines learning and work, what should education truly aim for?

1. The Power of Inquiry AI can give you all the answers, but it cannot ask the pivotal questions for you. Future competitiveness lies in your ability to query the world (and AI) with precision and depth.

2. The Sense of Aesthetics AI can generate a thousand designs in a minute, but the judgment of 'which is best?' remains human. Aesthetics is the fundamental filtering capacity in the AI era, nurtured through real-life experiences.

3. Cognitive Empathy The smarter AI becomes, the more we need humans who truly understand 'humanity.' Empathy first grows within the family; authentic human connection can never be replaced.

4. Strategic Integration The most valuable people of the future aren't those who know everything, but those who can connect disparate fields to form unique insights.

5. Articulate Expression Articulate individuals will become exceptionally scarce. It’s not just about making AI understand you, but making humans want to listen to you.

Three messages for parents: First, don't chase the trends; chase the underlying capabilities. Second, let children engage with AI early, but never let AI replace thinking. Third, the more technology accelerates, the more we must return to the essence of education: preserving those slow, warm, and enduring things worth passing down.
